Dear Future Band Students and Parents,
We are very excited that you have chosen to be a part of the DISD Band program!! The next step to get ready for Beginning Band is to select an instrument. It is very important that the student be available to attend one of the sessions below to complete the selection process. Band Directors will assist the student with their instrument choice in order to assure the highest level of success. Instrument sections will be limited in numbers to provide for a balanced band. Therefore students are encouraged to come to the earliest session possible!
The times and dates for the instrument selection/director screening are:
• Tuesday May 30th 9:00 am til 12:00 noon
• Wednesday May 31st 1:00 pm til 4:00 pm
• Thursday June 1st 9:00 am til 12:00 noon
**Place: Devine DMS/DHS Bandhall**
The times listed above are “come & go” . Upon arrival at the Bandhall, everyone will sign-in. Students will be called in order to work with the directors on their selection. Once the selection is finalized, the students are free to leave.
It is very important that ALL students intending to be a part of the Beginning Band program attend one of the dates/times above. Student schedules will be set according to the lists the Director submits to the DMS counselor. We look forward to beginning our journey together in the DISD Beginning Band!! Thank you, and we’ll plan to see each of you on one of the days listed above! **Note: Instrument Purchase or Rental will occur on Wednesday September 6th at the DHS Band Hall from 3:45-6:00 pm!
Please do not purchase/rent instruments this summer!!** We want everyone to have the proper equipment! Thank You!!
