The vision of the Devine ISD Special Education Department is to support the intellectual, academic, linguistic, social, emotional, physical and vocational development of ALL students to their full potential.

It is the responsibility of all members of the educational community to provide quality services to students with disabilities that promotes access to appropriate opportunities to maximize their individual development in areas of education, vocation, and independence. The ultimate goal for students with disabilities is to provide services in an inclusive and supportive environment to the greatest extent allowable for their individual needs.

The mission of Devine ISD Special Education department is to develop services for students on an individual basis, recognizing learning differences and needs and promoting individual development through challenging curriculum and high expectations for all students.

By providing appropriate assessment, curriculum, and instruction with the necessary accommodations, an individual education plan (I.E.P.) is developed for each student in the area(s) of need to promotes student success in academic, vocational, social, and independent living skills.

The Devine Special Education Department strongly supports collaborative practices and the acceptance of shared responsibility for the education of every student. Our department offers a full array of services to meet the individual needs of students in our district and supports high expectations of success for ALL students.
