Dear Parents,

Governor Rick Perry has proclaimed January 2008 as School Board
Recognition Month to help build awareness of the crucial role an elected
board of trustees plays in our communities and schools. They are
extraordinary people who voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing
school districts. Their actions and decisions affect the present and
future lives of our children.

DMS is making plans to show our appreciation to our DISD Board of
Trustees' for their dedication and hard work at the upcoming meeting this
Wednesday night. Recognizing board members for this commitment and
sacrifice takes a combined effort on the part of all they serve:
administrators, school staff, students, parents, and the community. Even
though showing appreciation should be a year-round process, taking
advantage of the designated School Board Recognition Month in January
assures that these important people receive some of the thanks they
deserve.

I encourage you to find time to acknowledge and give thanks to our
dedicated public servants who make the time to share their vision and
voice about the future of our children in Devine ISD. If you would like
to send a note of appreciation to a particular board member or our entire
school board, you may respond to this email, and I will gladly print your
message and send it along with the other items of appreciation DMS will be
presenting our trustees. Please respond by Wednesday noon if at all
possible. Current DISD School Board members are:
Cindy Morales, President (and DMS parent)
	Wayde Anderson, Vice President
Lori Peery, Secretary (and DMS parent)
	Carl Brown, member
Dwayne Gardner, member (and DMS parent)
	Eva Marquis, member
Tommy Ramirez, member (and DMS parent)

Cordially,

Lori L. Marek
