[Msparents] DMS Activity Calendar

Dear DMS Parents,

Please find the latest update of our DMS Activity Calendar attached.  Of
special interest to 8th grade parents should be the big meeting next
Thursday evening with high school staff for "Freshman Parent Orientation"
and a question/answer session to follow regarding students' 9th grade
schedules.  Also, parents, we ask that you please assist us in any way you
can with our spring cookie dough fundraiser.  We use the proceeds from our
spring fundraiser to help pay for the end of year grade level fieldtrips
as well as attendance/honor roll/TAKS performance incentives.  Orders and
money are due by Monday, February 11, and the cookie dough will come in
the week before spring break (which includes Easter Sunday).  If you are
available to assist us with distribution, please call the school office
and let Mrs. Lockhart know you'd like to help out.

Don't forget to check your child's progress report next Wednesday and sign
it.  Schedule a conference with your child's team of teachers if you have
concerns.  7th grade team meets 1st period (7:55-8:43 a.m.); 6th grade
team, 2nd period (8:47-9:35 a.m.); and 8th grade team, 3rd period
(9:39-10:27 a.m.).  If you can't come in for a conference, a "conference
call" can also be arranged.  Call the school office for an appointment: 
830.851.0695.  You should also receive a grade-level newsletter with the
progress report.

Also, a GIANT CONGRATULATIONS to all our DMS students who did so well at
the Medina County Stock Show!  7th grader Briana Centilli took home Grand
Champion Honors in the swine division.  We're very proud of her and all
our other students who worked so hard to prepare for the show.  Thanks,
too, to all of you parents who came out and supported students and most
especially, to those of you who donated to the local booster club or have
businesses who assisted in purchasing animals.  If you would like more
information about how your child can become involved with the local 4-H
club (and they do way more than raise animals--in case you didn't know!)
please let me know, and I'll be sure to get your information to one of the
local club leaders so they can contact you with more information.
