[Msparents] Activity Calendar Changes & Progress Reports

Dear Middle School Parents,

Progress reports should be coming home with your students tomorrow. 
Because this grading period is only eight weeks in length and includes
semester exams, this will be the only progress report you receive prior to
report cards at the end of the grading period.  Students will have three
weeks left to bring up their grades before semester exams begin.  Please
read the grade level newsletter attached to the report for class news.  It
also includes a section on earning semester exam exemptions.

Many of you have taken advantage of picking up a DMS Activity Calendar at
our sporting events this fall and commented that you appreciate the
up-to-date campus information.  In an effort to continue improving upon
our communication with you and also streamlining procedures in our office,
we are going to start emailing out our calendar as well.  The format will
be slightly different from those seen during the first nine weeks, but it
will still contain a detailed list of the current week's activities as
well as a simplified list of upcoming activities for one to three weeks in
advance.  From time to time, it will also include a section called, "Ways
to Get Involved," when parents are needed as volunteers for upcoming
campus events/activities.  I hope you will find this calendar helpful in
your family planning, and I welcome any suggestions you may have for its
improvement.  The calendar will normally be sent on Fridays for the
upcoming week.  Please find this week's calendar attached.
