[Esparents] Letter of Appreciation

Dear Ciavarra Parents and Staff Members,

As principal of Ciavarra Elementary School, I want to express my gratitude
for the way you handled our severe weather situation on Monday, March 26. 
 When teachers and students were instructed to take cover, Ciavarra staff
responded immediately, securing the building and directing children into
safe areas.  Pre-K children had been dismissed prior to the alarm;
however, teachers and students in portable buildings moved into the main
building as directed.   Afterwards, bus drivers returned to the Elementary
campus with Pre-K bus students, and those children were supervised by
their teachers in the main hallway.   I greatly appreciate the
professionalism of Pre-K--2nd grade teachers and aides who contacted
parents and kept children calm and safe for the duration of the storm.

Parents, when you came to the campus to pick up your children, your calm,
polite behavior allowed us to dismiss students in a safe, orderly fashion.
 Thank you for your help in making things run as smoothly as possible when
students were released.  Your support on Monday afternoon is just one more
example of how working together helps us achieve our goals.  As we
complete the spring semester, I look forward to working with each of you,
and I encourage you to visit our campus often and call or email anytime
you have questions or ideas.
