What is Campus Crime Stoppers?

Campus Crime Stoppers is a unique program to get students involved in keeping their school safe. It is proactive as well as addresses crimes that have been committed at school and in the community. It’s a joint effort between Medina County Crime Stoppers, Devine Police Department, Devine ISD, and the community to keep the threat of violence, illegal drugs, weapons and other dangerous activity off our school campuses.

The goal of Campus Crime Stoppers is 100% safe schools. This involves more than just taking anonymous tips. It provides an opportunity for students to fight crime at their school and in their community, creating a positive and safe learning environment. Students today are faced with a lot of dangers, dating violence, internet predators, bullying, drugs, underage drinking and more. We strive to give students access to people and services that can make them safe from all kinds of threats.

How does the program work?

Its easy. If at any time you have information on a crime or you know someone who has a weapon or illegal drugs or is threatening someone else while at school, just call the Devine High School Campus Crime Stoppers number, 830-851-0TIP (0847) or fill out the online tip form at this site. You can also call the Medina County Crime Stoppers tips hotline number at 800-FOR-CUFF (367-2833). The tip will be passed on to the school. Tips can be made after a crime has been committed at the school or in the community as well as a preventive action. By being proactive, Campus Crime Stoppers can help stop a crime before it is committed.

Who is the victim?

Any member of the school, faculty, or community member whom a crime has been or will be committed against

Do I have to give my name?

No! Your call is completely confidential. Crime Stoppers will not ask for your name. When you call, you are given a code number or word. This word or number is for you only and should not be given to anyone else. No one will know you called the tips number unless you tell them. This anonymity creates an atmosphere free of retaliation promoting citizens to take responsibility. If your tip leads to an arrest or recovery of weapons or illegal drugs you could be eligible for up to a $1000 reward!
